Google CEO predicts that people will be allowed to change their names when they are older to disown the bad things they did on the Internet when they were kids:

He predicts, apparently seriously, that every young person one day will be entitled automatically to change his or her name on reaching adulthood in order to disown youthful hijinks stored on their friends' social media sites...
"I don't believe society understands what happens when everything is available, knowable and recorded by everyone all the time," he says... "I mean we really have to think about these things as a society."

Anyone that has seriously matured wouldn't care about changing their name.

I predict that people will be able to undergo elective procedures...that can actually alter the way they appear to others!

I think he's saying that children will ALL change their names when they get older---like having a kid name and an adult name will be common place.

I can't see society evolving in that direction and I think I know more about that than the CEO of Google.

I read the whole idea behind IP v6 is so the government can tattoo your IP address onto your forearm at birth.

I think it's a good idea, but a stupid idea at the same time. So what if someone changes their name. They'd have to stop contacting any of their friends who hadn't changed their names. If I changed my name tomorrow, my neighbors & all sorts of other people would know me by both names. The two names would be linked together online pretty quickly.

Hell, people here don't use their real name to post under, but it's not hard to link many (most?) of the people here with an actual name.
