Google Calendar in Thunderbird

I found some walkthroughs on how to add gcal to Thunderbird. Everything went fine. I just have one issue. None of my events show up on the actual calendar. There is an "inbox" type box above the monthly calendar where all my events are. I'd like to have them on the days of the calendar but I can't figure out how to get them there. Any ideas? 🙁
