Google calendar events disappear from phone, show up fine on website

My sister in law is having a problem where all her Google calendar events disappeared. She added some back in, and when I checked her calendars on the Google Calendar website, everything was there. Even doubles for the ones she added again.

I've tried restarting her phone, forcing it to re-sync everything, downloading an alternate calendar app, and clearing the calendar app's data. Nothing worked, and clearing the data made all those new events she added disappear as well, and she can't get them back.

Tomorrow I will try accessing my calendar from her phone and vice versa, and see if that tells me anything. Maybe I could somehow set it up as a work calendar too, I don't know. I did some searching and while plenty of people have had this problem, few seem to have found solutions. I'd be grateful if anyone can help.

What phone? What version of android? I don't know if I personally would have an answer as I have never had this issue, but it likely would be helpful I am thinking.

Oh, sorry. This is a Samsung Moment (which sucks and we need a new one but no upgrade until December) and it has Android 2.1.

Glitch in the filesystem? I'd bring out the big hammer and do a TiBu backup&full reformat/stock restore, but if she's not already rooted that's a new can of worms.
