Question Google App on x86 Android tablet will not update?

I have an Insignia 10" tablet with Intel Atom x3 soc running Android 6.0.1 and recently the Google App will not install/update. It downloads it, then says the install failed. I have even tried updating it from an apk from apkmirror.com and it too either says install failed for the 64bit or corrupted image for the 32bit. I have two other ARM based Android phones that have gotten the Google App update without issue. Any recommendations for getting this updated?
 
One of my Android phones exhibited this issue, a Galaxy S9, took 3 days to finally install. Don't know what the issue was but keep trying.
