Question Google and Cloudflare DNS

Hi guys, I have a dumb question about using google or cloudflare dns as the default on your router. Do i have to forward port 853 to the router for "dns over tls" to work? or is it on by default on all routers? otherwise it just resort to standard 53?
 
Most routers don't support it yet unless you use 3rd party firmware.

Do it from browser.
