Does anyone here use it? I saw a link on anothe rboard a guy posted an this guy supposedly got a check for like 138,000. Seeme dlike bs, especially a blog. But anyway, how many hits does a site need before it actually will turn a profit?

it is unlikely you can turn a profit. You need thousands of visiters a day.
 
Adsense is only useful for high-traffic sites. If you've got a blog, don't waste your time, you'll only make your blog less appealing.
