Google Ads?

Alright what is your take on google adsense? I am sure this has been talked about before but I am going to put my own twist on it. I own a website and have just started using google ads on certain pages. I run a local directory and offer both free ads to business 'which are text only' and paid ads which feature updates as needed and pictures and link on the front page. Anyway Last night I implemented ads on the free listing pages. Now I am wondering if I should take these off. Is it professional to have them there? Can I justify it because the listings are free? Do they look like crap? Tell me what you think.
I?m not going to link to a page with ads or anything, but if you want to see what I am talking about the main site is www.rockriverbiz.com browse to a business and the ad will be at the bottom.

No stupid Java/Macromedia crap on every page?

Hells yes I like their ads.
They gotta make money and I'm glad they didnt do anything irritating or invasive.

So on my site they do not appear to be annoying? or unprofessional?
 
I tell all of my inquiring advertisers that I will not put up any ads that compete with theirs, and if they are sharing space with a non-competitive ad then I will discount the overall price if it CPM (not with CPC). But, I also say that I have the right to strategically place adsense anywhere.

So I think it is fine as long as you let them know your ad placement policy.

The reason I ask is because these ads are only going on the business that are listing with us for FREE, all the paid business's will not have any form of ad. Is that encouragement to sign up or unprofessional?
 
All I can say is this..

Read their TOS CAREFULLY.

I used to run them, infact they owed me a little over $4,000 they then decided they didnt want me as a partner anymore, so they dropped me (and did not pay what was owed) They also had previously threatened to do this if I did not REMOVE CERTAIN CONTENT from my page.. Yes that is right, google censored me. (and no it wasnt porn, it was an article on how celebs were getting their voicemail hacked)

for some reason i only get them sometimge. Like, for this time, there are no google ads. its pretty weird....
