Goofy Login Screen for Fedora

Just installed Fedora Core 3. Whenever I boot up the system the login screen seems to be zoomed in a lot so all the text is huge and off-screen. I can still sign in, but I would like to fix that problem. My resoultion for the desktop display work normally. Anyone know how to adjust the login screen attributes to fix this problem?

Is it where it appears that you're viewing a small portion of the screen magnified, and if you move your mouse over to the edges, the screen scrolls in that direction? In that case, your real resolution is set lower than your virtual resolution; there should be a utility somewhere that can make the change through a GUI; I've never used Fedora, so the only way I know is to edit the X config file. 😱

Yea, hopefully i can find this utility. I haven't had much experience at all with linux commands yet, but i'm learning slowly.

the other option is to press 'e' in grub and add a 3 to the end of the line. Then it will boot into cli. Log in and cd into /etc/X11 from there you will need to backup the old config. and make sure that you know the Hsync and VertRefresh of the monitor.

now once you have moved the config file you can run 'system-config-xfree86' and select the correct monitor or insert the correct rates and then select your resolution. now you will want to either reboot or type init 5
