Goodyear Fortera HL / GM recall

Washington — General Motors Co. has told its dealers to halt sales of about 6,000 2015 SUVs because of a pending Goodyear tire recall.

The recall by Goodyear covers tires on some 2015 Chevrolet Traverses, GMC Acadias and Buick Enclaves that could crack.

GM spokesman Alan Adler said the Detroit automaker will work with Goodyear to reach customers of the aftermarket tires. GM will reach out to its dealers and Goodyear will go after non-dealership points of sale.

Goodyear, in a statement, said the noncompliance recall includes about 48,500 Fortera HL tires that were made from Nov. 30, 2014 through Jan. 10, 2015.

Goodyear said its customers should have tires replaced for free at a Goodyear retail store or authorized dealer. Customers with questions can call Goodyear at (800) 321-2136.
