After 9 months of being jobless (with only a couple weeks worth of well paying contract jobs) I am officially no longer a drain on society! 🙂

Get to work for a project team at the local Anheuser Busch Systems Management Group office here in STL!
Man, there is nothing better in this life (ok ok, except the ladies) than getting that phone call saying "hey, come work for us!". Especially when you know you beat out a bunch of other people in a very tough market to get the job!

Maybe this econ. really is starting to pick up after all!
 
Good job and I was going to say it's bad luck not to drink beer to celebrate such a thing, but it's ReALLY bad luck to not drink beer if you're working for a beer company.
 
Congrats, I got lucky after my layoff and started a new job the day my severance from my old company ended. Too bad I didn't know it would work out that way, I would have enjoyed the 6 weeks off a hell of a lot more.

Best part is, now the first two entries on my resume are AB and SBC. That'll help alot in the future if/when I need to hunt again!
 
hmm... a lot of my friends that just graduated (well they are smart) and got jobs and I am not so smart .... *sigh* hehe. Balthazar, do you think the market is picking back up?
 
Good luck with the new job. I don't start my new job till july 12, so i will have been unemployeed for 1 year and 1 week. My GF was told today will be her last day(at work). 🙁

That sucks man, being without a job has its perks obviously but it can also bite pretty hard! Good luck with the new job and hopefully your g/f will have some luck finding a position.

It's a good feeling, isn't it? I got that same call back in December, and have been enjoying working ever since.

How ironic. I'm leaving St. Louis on Monday for a new job in Rhode Island.

What's more ironic is that I was facing unemployment in July since my current department is closing. Turns out I"m getting a promotion and moving to the East Coast. 😀

Congrats Balthazar! I had no idea you were from St. Louis.

What part of the east coast?
I would love a promotion and placement on the east coast as long as its not some place like the carolinas (sorry people, just not my type of place)....actually pretty much anyplace but NY on the east coast I dont like 🙂
