Goodbye T-Bird - Hello XP 1800+

I upgraded my 1.2Ghz (200FSB) T-bird with an XP 1800+ and 256MB PC2100 (from PC1600). It's not everyday I strip down my computer and change out the processor, so I was pleased when the installation went smoothly. The only hitch was that the FSB settings needed to be adjusted in order to allow me to enter the bios setup and change the optimizations. The temps have dropped dramatically with the new processor, now averaging 33C (down from 45C - 1.2 Tbird was OC'd to 1.3). Of course with the new XP, I was able to bump the memory to 266 - sweet!

Just needed to vent my success! 😀

You know I meant to write the stepping down but I didn't. Perhaps when I upgrade the mobo I will check.
