I went through business coporate site and got the HD2 for $149.
And the plan is $40(600 mins +500 texts) + $30 data= $70 - 15% = $59.5 +tax.
No activation fee and I got a free BT headset along with it.

I've been drooling over this phone ever since it came out and swore to myself I would get it as soon as it gets here to the US.
Been waiting for WED to come and then Sprint dropped the bomb on us with the EVO on Tuesday.
So I've been agonizing over the past day on what to do.
Get the HD2 or wait till whenever the EVO gets here.
You know either way the SERO plan is going bye bye.
Theres nothing like paying $35 total for everything and also able to tether to the laptop when I travel.
But the best phone you can get right now for SERO is the Pro Touch 2 and that phone is not cutting it.

So worst case scenario, I'll pay the ETF fee($200) when the EVO comes out.
And thats still only $350 vs paying $450 outright for the HD2.
Beside, Central Fla is not on the list to get 4g this year so I will probably stick to T-Mobile as their 3G is actually faster than Sprint in this area.
I actually like Window Mobile 6.5 anyhow and the HD2 is GSM so I can use it oversea which I usually go twice per year.

is WM 6.5.3 really touch friendly or is it just a gimmick. As great as the HD2 hardware is i cant look beyond WM.

HTCs Sense skin is several layers deep, and it doesnt seem anything like Win Mo till youre a couple of layers into the OS. Ive had a lot of WM phones over the years, this is pretty slick...

i played with one in the t-mobile store the other day...awesome phone, great to handle. the UI is nicely done, but would take some getting used to for me coming from android. get a screen protector asap though, that thing is smudge central

Yeah, Im pretty unfamiliar with it at the moment, am pretty likely to keep it as I can tether with it and not void my warranty, iPod WiFi will be delivered soon hopefully, and will need a mobile tether for it.

If they don't have it themselves by then, I'm sure a ROM dump of the Evo would help them out on that, seeing as its virtually the same hardware.

Funny thing.
I went back to the coporate T-mobile portal and the HD2 has disappeared from the list.
I wonder if its sold out or its not meant to be on there in the first place.
I was trying out www.t-mobile/"enter coporate name here" and my old company happnned to work and its 15% off.
So browsing around all the plans are the same except they have some business plan available with decent pricing.
The one to my liking is 600mins/500 texts for $40.(Comparable normal plan is $50).
I figured there is no way the HD2 is on there.....sure enough its on there for $149.
I went ahead with the process and it let me check out without a DATA plan.
I'm like no way so I put it through seeing if T-Mobile actually will process the order or not.(no verification process except it asked for a work e-mail and I put down a normal email).
I then got an email later telling me I need to add the $30 DATA plan if I wanted the order to go through.
LOL, I was so excited that it would go through so I emailed back "sure".
Within 3 mins, I got an email saying my order has been proccessed.
I got the tracking number today.
I'm stoked !!!
BTW, I happenned to like the look of HTC Sense UI much better than Android(not saying its better, just looks better)

The N1 seems a bit faster, but we're talking fractions of a second, I really prefer the screen and digitizer of the HD2, have been using an iPhone or Android phone for years now, not liking relearning WM, but the HTC skin helps a lot, it's going to be strange carrying 2 touchscreen devices...

I want the iPad for surfing @ work

It might not be on that site because the HD2 is sold out on T-mobile's store.

Have you installed any custom ROMs from XDA yet? WM 6.5.3/5 is definitely superior to the stock 6.5 that comes with the device. I'm using Kumar's ROM, with a bunch of additional add-ons, its nice. I tried EnergyROM, basically it was what I had + add ons built in, but it had some stuff I didn't like and seemed less stable.

No custom ROMs yet, can you reflash to stock for warranty issues?

It was already sold out in retail stores by the end of Wed.
I placed my order 5pm on Thurs

Yeah, the sell out shocked everyone... I suspect TMobile was surprised at the response, I know the guy who took my order was pretty excited at the volume, I called early on the 24th...

So, I bought the HD2 through Wirefly & Bing on Friday night for $99-$50 & free activation. It shipped yesterday and gets here on Tuesday. Can't wait :)

I'm going to wait the 181 days required by Wirefly before switching to the EVO and ebaying the HD2. I think sprint has better service in my area, and I can get a better plan using the ENRP & academic discount (I hope the stack).

So I finally got my HD2 even though it was 2 days UPS and got it in 4 days.
Well, I was pretty pissed off waiting the extra days and finding the box looking like this.
I fired off an email to CS and she replied by saying she sending me another phone ASAP no cost.
I've seen my order and it does indeed say $0.00.
Heh, whats the odd of me getting to keep both phones as I don't really see a record of them wanting the old one back.
The battery wouldn't shut tight but I figured it out by bending it back just a bit and now its almost like spanking new.
Love this phone. I can't get over how gorgeous it is.
And another pic next to my Iphone.
