I’ve finally replaced my Hackintosh with a Mac Mini (M4 chip)

New Mac Mini (M4 Chip):

  • CPU/GPU: Apple M4 chip (10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine)
  • Memory: 24GB unified memory
  • Storage: 1TB SSD
  • Ports: Three Thunderbolt 4, HDMI, two USB-C, headphone jack
  • Networking: Built-in 10 Gigabit Ethernet

Previous Hackintosh Build:

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-9600K (Coffee Lake, 3.7 GHz, 6 cores)
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390M Gaming mATX
  • Wi-Fi Adapter: BCM943602CDP (Bluetooth 4.2 with NGFF to M.2 adapter) – No longer works natively in macOS Sonoma!
  • GPU: PowerColor Radeon RX 5700 (8GB)
  • Storage: WD Black SN750 NVMe SSDs (2TB macOS boot, 1TB Windows boot, 1TB shared storage)
  • RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4 (3200MHz)
  • Cooling/Case: Noctua NH-L9x65 CPU Cooler in a Goodisory S200 SFF case

Hardware on My Desk:

  • Monitors: Dell UltraSharp U2718Q (27" 4K HDR IPS) and Dell S2721DGF (27" 1440p, 165Hz HDR Nano IPS)
  • Audio: Firestone Audio Bravo 24/96 Digital Processor (USB 2.0, no drivers needed)
  • Keyboard/Mouse: Leopold FC660C (Topre switch), Logitech MX Master 2, and Logitech G604
I didn’t try OCLP or any patches for the BCM943602CDP Wi-Fi card because I prefer native functionality. Unfortunately, it seems macOS Sonoma has dropped support for this card entirely—Bluetooth works, but Wi-Fi is dead.

Congrats!! My hack died early last year. I was going to get the M4 mini, but got an M4 iPad pro instead. Perhaps later this year...

Haha hackintoshing was a lot of fun, did it for years. Must have made 10 of them. Apple silicon is so amazing though, quiet and powerful, its a dream come true congrats

So I got one of these Saturday, and so far so good. I asked this in another thread. Does replacing the SSD void the warranty? TIA!
