Good wkend R&R type places close to NJ?

Hey guys, I need some advice on going to a r&r type place that is close to NJ. I'm thinking about the Poconos, Long Island, or maybe even Cape May. Are there any suggestions or good ideas for a couple wkend activity? Any recommended resorts/hotels? thanks.
 
Friends of mine own the Queen Victoria Inn in Cape May. Not cheap to stay, but it is a beautiful inn in a beautiful beachside town. Great for a romantic getaway, and lots to do - food, shopping, beach, sightseeing, even the Cape May zoo
 
Hey - I am taking my niece back to her college (SUNY New Paltz) and we ra egoing to check out the Mohonk Mountain House. I have heard nice things about it (plus her boyfriend got a job there this summer). We are going on Friday 🙂
