Good wkend R&R type places close to NJ?

Hey guys, I need some advice on going to a r&r type place that is close to NJ. I'm thinking about the Poconos, Long Island, or maybe even Cape May. Are there any suggestions or good ideas for a couple wkend activity? Any recommended resorts/hotels? thanks.
 
just beaches. cape may is rather far but wildwood is nice. I prefer to stay at Belmar myself.

There are a number of nice places in Spring Lake, NJ

Lambertville, NJ / New Hope, PA is a good place to go for R&amp;R
