I searched this forum before posting here. But couldn't find anything really.
I just purchased a laptop, and bought a Toshiba WRC 1000 (802.11b) wireless router from the deal and reviews on the hot deals board.
I've tried searching the web, but maybe my search criteria is too broad, because I havn't found a site that reviews wireless cards well. And have had a hard time finding a site that does in depth comparisons of wireless hardware in general. Too many are either too brief, or they cover mainly how easy to setup, versus a complete review of features, range, and comparison of others in the same class. I guess I'm looking for an anandtech style review of wireless hardware.
From my research the name orinoco has come up alot, but I would like to find out based on ppl's experience (and maybe their reviews) about the other brands (Linksys, Netgear, D-Link, SMC, Gigafast, etc).
So, what I am asking is, if ppl could post their experience and/or knowledge with different wireless cards for the laptop (pcmcia/cardbus) that they have, or have used. Please also provide details like what laptop you have, position of wireless router and type, and anything else you think may be necessary.
