I bought I wireless keyboard/mouse combo without realizing they generally have a very short (5ft.) range. I wanted to use it in my living room for a HTPC setup. Anyone have any suggestions on a brand/model for this application? Need probably at least 15 ft. range or better. Ty.

do you need a mouse? Logitech has a sweet Bluetooth KB that will get you close to 30 feet, no mouse with it, but it has a touch pad that works very well as a mouse replacement. I like it better than a touch pad on a typical llaptop.

any BT will get you decent range, I love the style of the Edge

linky it's not cheap but worth even penny. built in rechargeable battery, amazing battery life, charging stand.

I used something called a Gyro mouse which was pretty cool. It had great distance...really great distance and you would use it like a wii remote.

diNovo Media Desktop Laser $108 after $45 MIR
I'm currently researching this to make sure it does what I'm looking for and is programmable etc. The MX1000 Laser mouse that's included is excellent, arguably one of Logitech's best cordless rechargeables. The entire set-up is Bluetooth, but I don't think the keyboard and remote numpad are rechargeable. Otherwise this looks to be a great cordless set-up for an HTPC.

logitech wave works for me though my apartment is not big but i am typing this from the back of the kitchen.

My place is 50ft deep x 25wide and the TV and therefore the receiver, are located somewhat centralish so I am getting maybe twenty feet of distance here. Two walls are in the way and a fridge/maybe the stove as far away as i can get. If this actually types up then i will post as I can't even see the tv... (totally useless exercise, but why not find out if this works).

I got mine at office max with a mouse i do not like (too light, but you may like it) for $70, no rebate needed. They have it at the egg with a rebate for that amount.

Logitech DiNovo keyboard + Logitech MX Revolution mouse. Won't ever look at another HTPC setup. Wish i could have afforded a second set of them just to shelf as spares...

I use an MX5000 I have tried much farther than ~10ft but it works great from that distance.
