Best Buy has a Compaq for $399.99 no rebates and a Gateway for $499.99 no rebates. See this thread for particulars.

CompUSA has 9/3-9/4 only, Acer with Intel Core Duo Processor $549.99 after rebates. Link. Shows in-store only for me.

Yeah, as usual with good BB deals, you have to actually go to the store, preferably before it opens, stand in line, and hope there are enough that you get to buy one. Small price to pay for some of the deals.

 
I was able to add the Compaq @ BB to my cart so it is available as of 10:20 EDT.

However here is a Laptop @ Microcenter that may be a better deal.
Acer @ Micro

It is $389 and if you have it shipped and don't have to pay sales tax it turns out cheaper than BB in store.
For me the nearest BB is 1 hour away and in state. The nearset Micro is 1:25 away but out of state.

I don't believe the Acer notebook is available for purchase online.

 
Nice, seems like someone been on fw and sd 😛. I just bought the "Toshiba Satellite Intel Core Solo." The Acer is probably more of what most people here would want to buy, since its a core duo. The toshiba is a 14 inch screen and weights 1lb less than the acer (or any 15in laptops for that matter). I dont game anymore and the smaller toshiba is perfect for word processing/movies. Good luck to anyone that wants the acer as it ends 9/4 which is tomorrow!

Anyone able to pull up the Compaq at Circuit City? When I click on the OP's link, Circuit City isn't finding that laptop.
