Cook's Illustrated will cost you $4 per month to access, but is well worth it, IMO.

Epicurious is also a great site, as already pointed out.

EDIT- CI's website appears to be down currently, sorry.

EDIT2- Alton Brown's website is also a great one to dig around on.
