Good webcam for videoconferencing?

I will be moving 1,000-3,000 miles away for graduate school amd wanted to get a pair of cameras to chat with my family. What sort of camera would be good for this? Must work with XP. I've heard about the Logitech QC Pro 3000 - will this work in XP? Will this meet my needs? Are there better solutions?

If you have a camcorder, the better solution would be to buy a capture card and plug your camcorder in. Just note that the FPS on te video conference will be determined by the slowest connection on the conference.
