Ok, I've decided it's time to invest in a webcam. I do *NOT*, however, want one of the cheapy "Hey, look, I *THINK* that's someone's picture" grainy deals. I have a cable modem connection (1Mb/s), so something that stands a chance at utilizing that bandwidth would be nice. Hopefully in the $100 range.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a webcam that takes decent pics and can maintain a decent framerate? Or should I just suck it up and get a digital camera?

Thanks,
Chris

Well, decide which one you need. Even a still-frame 1.3 megapixel ($100-$150) camera will beat the pants out of ANY motion camera out there. However, if you must have video streams, and want the best, suck up the cost of a used camcorder w/ capture card. That will give you the best price/performance ratio.

None of those USB videocams have ever impressed me. Just a bunch of garbage !
