Yes I know dedicated camcorders will do a far superior job at recording video than a webcam. But I would like to know if there is a webcam that can double as a "decent" video recorder.
I bought a Logitech HD C525, and it does a pretty good job of being a webcam for relatively little $$$. But when recording video it is terrible. It does record in 1280x720, but the image quality is terrible. The data rate is roughly 4,000kbps. And the frame rate is only 15/sec. The end result is rough looking video with lots of stuttering with moving objects.
Another element that is less than ideal is that the Logitech HD C525 records in .wmv format. This does not seem as easy to work with. I admit that I have very limited video editing experience though.
Does anyone know of a decent webcam for recording videos? Preferably 30/sec and not in .wmv format. Reolution is not as important as image quality.
