Good Ways to FALL ASLEEP?!?!? (besides countin' sheep)

There are some nites I just CAN'T SLEEP.. it pisses me off because I always end up really tired the next day..

What do you do to fall asleep? tell me your own little ways to get the job done..

Things I don't need to know:

1. taking pills.. drugs so on..
2. masturbation :Q
3. counting sheep..

I usually leave the TV on. If I don't, my mind races for about an hour and then I fall asleep.

-drink something with caffeine (won't work for everyone)
-turn on a fan (the noise puts me to sleep)

Don't sleep for a few nights, then you will have no problem falling asleep.

Bring your cd player with you to bed. Get a mellow trance CD and put your headphones on (keep the volume low). Try to listen to the music. Don't think about your day or your friends or your problems. Just sit quietly and enjoy the music. After a while the repetiveness will help relax you.

Note: I'm not knocking techno or implying that is all repetitive and boring. I suggest this because i've done it a few times myself and it works like a little champ.

i would have to second that masturbation thing. really works, but mabe not for everyone.

music is usually nice to sleep too. i have my computer right next to my bed, so I can play mp3's and such to go to sleep to

Yeah my comp is right next to my bed and I have it play an hours worth of mp3s and I am always asleep before it finishes. I can actually tell what time I went to sleep, cause I can go back and think of what songs I remember hearing before I went to sleep, it's kinda cool.

I just get really pissed at myself, and after 2..3...4...8 hours I usually goto sleep, or just say screw it, spend time on the computer, and nap during the day. Works

it all depends. If i encountered many events in that day or if i'm going to the next, I never get sleep. But I usually get tired around 12ish, my body has learned, so I wouldn't know. What i do know, is this. I used to rock myself to sleep listening to Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient works cds. I recommend you look into that, very peaceful :)

Stretching for a while can help your muscles relax, which can make it easier to sleep. Also, maybe just feel your breath coming in an out of your nose as you are lying in bed with your eyes closed. :)

Woohoo! I actually learned something in class. :(

Accustom yourself to falling asleep at the same time, temperature, sound levels and sounds. You could do something physically demanding, then shower to cool your body temperature quickly. And taking drugs only gets you asleep but cuts into the amount of &quot;restorative&quot; sleep you get that night. Read a boring book.

3. Lay down.

4. Fall asleep.
