I'd like to find a nice watch between $50-100 that can easily come on and off of my arm & motorcycle jacket. I don't like typical elastic bands, especially the kind that will catch threads and hairs with repeated removal, so it looks like velcro is the best way to go, even if it's fugly. If I can help it, I don't want anything that will scratch the bike up.

I see these MTM Special Ops watches advertised in Discover Magazine often, but they are WAAAY too expensive. :( At least I know it will fit easily outside of a jacket... almost all their pictures show it being used that way!

Casio G-Shock, one of the high end models. They have huge bands.

I'd see if a Skagen would fit over the jacket. Go to a major department store and look at the Skagen selection, try some on with your jacket. Don't buy it there, though. Amazon has them for 50% off almost all the time.

Oh, and what about neoprene bands? Would they be flexible enough to fit snugly over both a jacket and wrist without needing to be readjusted?

I like the idea because neoprene can at least *look* like a normal bandn

Thanks. I will definitely check that out...

Or a bund strap like pilots used to wear over their flight jackets.
