I have two questions. First of all, I am looking for a step up from my crappy geforce 2 mx video card, but I don't really wanna pay more than $150. I would like the best for the bucks, so what do you guys think I should go for?

Secondly, which forum do people post the bb and Compusa ads before they come out? I seem to have forgotten! Thanks for all the help!

I recommend either a ATi Radeon 7500 ($119 @ Newegg) or find another $25 and get a Leadtek GeForce3 Ti200 ($175 from Newegg).

Edit: MSI's GeForce3 Ti200 is $157 but not in stock at the moment.

As for which forum, check the Hot Deals forum.

Thanks. How about newegg itself, is it a safe place to buy? I have been "gotten" by good prices before (not at newegg) and I don't want that to happen again. Thanks for all the help, anyone else got any ideas?

NewEgg is one of the best, if not the best place to buy online. I bet 90% of the people in this forum have purchased from them.

I second GT's comments about NEWEGG. Low if not the lowest prices, cheap shipping. They use Fedex also.

Another vote for Newegg and seeing as how you want this upgrade to last fro a while, judging by your last card;)), go for the cheapest GF3 Ti200 or GF2 Ti500. eother of these cards shoudl last you well into 2003:) (probably)

Yeah,
The card came with my computer. At the time dell wanted like 300 dollars MORE to upgrade to a GF3, so I thought it would just be cheaper to buy one seperately and then I would have two cards for less than the upgrade for one. My only problem with buying a state-of-the-art card is that they are so damn expensive. and within 6 months they will be half price (or at least a lot cheaper).
