Good USB Flash products that are seen as removable

Anyone recently, as in the past six months of less, found a product for USB3 Flash drives (e.g. thumb drives) that have their bit set correctly so that they show up as removable?

I found it amusing that the Windows 8 certification process forced most of the industry to set the bit to have them show up as non-removable, but then released the Media Creation Tool that only sees USB Flash drives with the bit set to removable (nice catch-22).

I would really prefer to avoid the buy & return and repeat to finding something useful. Looking for 8GB products supporting USB3 (will consider 16GB, but nothing larger/smaller than 8/16).

Every one I have is removable. SanDisk Cruser Force is one I have right at the moment that's in that's removable...

What have you seen that isn't?

Staples Relay 8gb's are set to fixed storage. We learned that the hard way when we tried to create some WIN8 boot USB's 😛

On a side note, anyone know which bit determines this, and how to change it?

After a search...
...I found a few things that suggest you can change it. An app called Bootit (v1.07 apparently) and hdd low level formatter tool v.4.25. Whether they'll work...YMMV, but those that referenced it said they did with a similar situation.
