I just want to watch some TV shows on NBC/CBS/Fox but they wont let me because im 2 hours above the border in Canada :(

Im assuming a good USA proxy would get me through, unless im mistaken. Any other ways around this?

a good shell account (with ssh tunnel) could work for this, but not all are worth your money.

shellweb has worked good in the past and might still have really reasonable prices.
http://shellweb.net/

either that or just much easier, simply torrent the TV shows instead.

+1 vote for hotspot.

It works for me, but I'm not sure it it's spyware-free or not. I use it in a closed environment, so that's not an issue for me.

you can search lists of proxies there are everywhere, so you can use any country's proxy, so you'll have more possibilities. but you have to be very patient because they rarely work, or they rarely work well

I know this is an old thread, but I'm also looking for a good US proxy to use.

When I clicked went to download the tool from the link above, I got a virus alert and McAfee deleted it.

I also use Ultrasurf version 9.4. You will also need to download an addon if you intend to use it with Firefox. Googling around should yield a link. I use it because certain sites simply don't work without it eg. pics.bbzzdd.com, newegg.com etc.

And I use OpenDNS (the whole reason I started using it because any other DNS server wouldn't let me view bbzzdd.com but it oddly doesn't work anymore with OpenDNS, at least for me).
