Young cocky black guy (Melvan?) lost. I thought it was the best episode next to Forest and the other finalist (Sam?). Was a good fight though.

I agree, I think Melvin had potential to do a lot better... he just didnt explode. He was definetely a dangerous fighter though.

He had one chance at the end when he had the shin kick, but didnt capitalize on it (yes Im pritty much quoting here).

The one thing I was wondering though, was why you can hit the other guy in the back of the head, Josh did it once or twice and the ref told him to stop. Why?

Wow that whiteboy couldn't fight worth jack.
The black guy should've kept on pressing him with the front kicks.

I take it your definition of fighting is striking.

Well, even his ground and pound was fairly weak.

Solid takedowns and slams and he was able to maintain ground control. I'd have to see him against a more aggressive fighter to give a more accurate judgement.

I agree. Melvin was not aggressive at all and simply looked like he did not want to fight. I'm sure it didn't help that he broke his hand in the 2nd round though.

Melvan's excuse was because he was nervous... I was surprised he didnt fight like he did in the 3rd round throughout the whole fight. He did pritty good for the first 2 min in the 3rd round.

Yep, he wasn't aggressive enough throughout the whole match.
All he did was run his mouth.
Whiteboy ran his mouth too.
The fight was definitely boring.
Some of the body slams were alright, but nothing really damaging.

Josh didn't really talk any trash that I can remember, except the quick pre-fight line about giving him a compound fracture or something.

I agree, he was fairly humble. Still not a great fighter though. There were plenty of times I was getting all worked up wishing they would do wha tI was yelling !

I used to wrestle in highschool, so I know (to a certain extent) what Im doing. I miss wrestling so much :(

If I was in the ring, I would get pissed off at the guys yelling "Elbow!!! Punch!!! Kick!!!" and I would end up saying STFU to all the know-it-alls.

Have you ever been in a wrestling/boxing/MMA match? Any sort of one on one combat? I can tell you from personal experience a lot of times it is very helpful to have a knowledgeable coach yelling for you what to do. Even other peers (as long as they aren't idiots) can be helpful. They can see the clock, they aren't in the heat of the moment. They know just how aggressive you need to be. In this case they were doing the right thing yelling at Marvin to do something and get aggressive. They needed to make him feel urgent, cause he NEEDED to feel urgent. He just had no will to win.
