I currently have a TV tuner that doesn't work with Win2k and I am sick of WinME. I was thinking of going back to Win98 but I really want Win2k so I am going to buy a new TV tuner. What are some cheap ones that will work with Win2k? I don't really need video capture or anything like that. I just want something that will do 640x480.

Hauppage WinTV does W2K. Several models are available...404 is mono...401 is stereo with FM....all work fine.

An OEM STB TV/FM Radio Tuner, originally in a Gateway computer. Has a max resolution of 320x240. It sucks. :( How much does the Hauppage go for?

Are they still beta drivers? It's under Special Purpose and they are not supported so I am guessing that they are.

Hauppauge is the best! It works really well in Win2k, and the quality of the video is great. I would get it!

Timekeeper,

To get the full picture of TV you need to be capable of capturing at 640x480. This is because the TV signal is interlaced, so half of the fields are updated at a time. A lot of TV cards based on brooktree chips (Hauppauge and just about all PCI cards) up until recently could only capture at 320x240 by capturing only those fields that were updated (which equals half).
