I currently own a Pinnacle Studio PCTV USB, but since I recently reformatted and upgraded to a larger hard drive (for the exact purpose of doing a little more TV-tuner capturing) I can't get the stupid thing to work anymore. I remember jumping through about 30 hoops last time before I got the thing working in W2K and can't remember how I pulled it off now. Pinnacle support is non-existant and the what little drivers they do have don't seem to work. So instead of fiddling with it anymore I'm going to give it to my dog for a chew toy and go out and get another tuner card (PCI this time which should probably have better picture quality anyway.)
What are the best PCI TV-tuner cards for less than $75 that actually work with W2K? I'm mainly looking to capture shows so I can watch them at the office on one of my spare systems while I'm working. I'll also probably convert some of them to VCD/SVCD to watch on my DVD player if the quality is decent. I hear mixed opinions on both the ATI TV Wonder VE and the Hauppauge cards. Obviously I'm not going Pinnacle again :|
My main graphics card in this particular box is an old Voodoo3 2000. I have Radeons in both my other systems and also have a spare Rage 128Pro laying around that I could swap out with it if need be. Thanks for any opinions/advice.
