Far...That site doesnt list PBS and Telemundo (what awful channels out of all of them to get..) but it says most of them are like 40 miles away.
I don't need an amazing antenna since it will be indoor... but I am clueless on amps.. that's where I really need to know what really has the kind of power I need...

it seems though that they are all roof antennas though which is not an option.
my only shot with my indoor antenna is a strong amp to give it a lot of extra power.

Amp is pointless if the antenna works poorly.
If you just want to buy one then I recommend this model, I got them for a lot of people here in apartments , nearest stations are 40 miles away and it works great.

If you want to make one, google clothes hanger hdtv antenna, works as good as the above and doesn't need an amp.

amp is for wire distance i think. mostly u'll amp noise
get a big antenna as you can and wall mount it
this avsforum has an antenna thread. there are some that are pretty big that you can still wallmount high on the wall as possible. theres also ones you can make, make.com has some. 40 miles isn't that bad
