Looking for Good external DVD writer under $25 if it were possible preferably for $20. Looking to replace Internal Disc drive in my build to make it look cleaner. I want to remove the bay with the disc drive so it looks cleaner. I don't use it as much but do use it from time to time. (Ignore dust particles on side window lol I need to clean it soon)

Nice rig! That said, external $25 USB DVD writers, basically suck. You can't write DVDs faster than 4X CLV reliably in them, and heaven help you if you bump them even just a tad while writing.

Internal DVD writers >>>>>>> external USB DVD writers

That said, you can get some *nice* ones, but they'll cost you $150 or more, for ones with a separate AC/DC brick PSU, and a 5.25" custom case. Some are e-SATA as well as USB3.0. Just make sure that you don't pick up a Mac Firewire unit, unless you have a Firewire interface somewhere on your PC. (Mobo or sound card?)

Thank you on the compliment she is my "Humble Solid Rig" (Signature) it does all my needs just fine for gaming, but I do plan on upgrading to a GTX 1070 when I have funds.
Thank you so much for clarifying this. I really appreciate the things you mentioned which I had no idea about specially in regards to speed and bumping them. Having never owned one I didn't know these things.

I mean technically I guess I could remove the Disc drive and just plug in the SATA connector and power connector when I need to use the Disc drive to use it manually that way I can just put it away after so I don't have to buy an external Disc Drive. Just want to make it look clean. Figured this would add a nice touch. (Removing disc bay)

Well, there is a way. Get a 5.25" e-SATA enclosure, that will support a DVD-RW, and then get an e-SATA bracket (just wiring, not a card), that plugs into a mobo SATA port internally, and has an e-SATA on the back. Then get an e-SATA to e-SATA cable of the appropriate length (I think that you want shielded, too), and plug it in the back when you need it.

That would work too. I Mean I hardly ever use it to be honest? but I do need it when I play GTA 5 which is not often either. I have Physical copy because at the time I had Data cap on my internet. I am taking a small trip tomorrow, guess I'll make a decision when I get back.

Technically tho since I use it seldomly maybe 1 times a month I could just remove it and whenever I need to use it I can just Pop the side panel off and plug the in the disc drive. I don't need it to look pretty or anything since right after I use it to maybe burn a disc or something I will just put it away back in my storage box.

But will see what happens. Appreciate your feedback. Thanks
