I’m waiting for the outrage and bill to be passed that will remove insecure phones from the President. I know that’s what the Republican Congress would want from Obama or the extremely careless Hillary.

Simple summary, Trump likes non government phones, he won’t give them up, they have found multiple snooping devices around the White House

The probability that him and other people in that admin (made up of lots of old dudes) are toting around compromised devices is like 115%

Do you realize what BS this story really is? All cell phones are tied to the E911 system which is the greatest government operated public funded surveillance system to date! All phones made as of 2001 have the E911 hardware giving them a separate and proprietary connection to the police run cell network that is not associated with your service provider apart from them sending your connection status to their PSAP which compares it with the E911 data.

Caller: Hello, is this Mr...Trump?
Useless Toad: Yes, this is THE PRESIDENT TRUMP!
Caller: This is Bill Gates at Windows and we have detected an error with your windows PC home system
Useless Toad: An error, WHAT KIND OF ERROR?!
Caller: Your computer processor is running too hot because of virus and may overload and explode your system, possibly starting a fire at night.
Useless Toad: OH NO!
Caller: Could you please log into the computer and open the attachment to the email that we sent to you from WindowsPC.HELP@bgatespc.ru
Useless Toad: [yelling in background] Baron! BARON! I need you to log into the computer! BARON! [muffled sound] What? OH! It's 1-2-3-4-5!
<beat>
Useless Toad: OK, OK, I've done it! what is that email? Did you send it to SexyBigHands69@Trumpco.trump?
Caller:...let me see....Yes, that is the one. thank you very much.
Useless Toad: BARON! I need you to open that email! The PC is dangerous! [mumbles] Shut up kid, JUST DO IT! I'm TOO IMPORTANT TO DIE!
<beat>
Useless Toad: OK, OK, It is done. There is some red flashing light pop up window
Caller: Oh, please just ignore that and close the window, and click all of the other windows that keep popping up when you close that one. It's the only way to stop it. Sorry, it is very buggy. Thank you for your time.

They allow it because Trump will fire anyone who tells him what to do. Besides the charge of the SS is the protection of the President's person.

As we've been told many times he can fire who he will, but of course, that does not mean such decisions would be free of consequences. If there were justice then we'd have another "buttery males" investigation with far stronger grounds.

There should be outrage although one could argue that the appropriate agencies are a bit preoccupied.

Instead of being distracted by the NFL and Stormy Daniels, perhaps Democrats going into the midterms can push a national security and veterans narrative, and also push for investigations into the use of these devices.

And Trump continues to use unsecured mobile devices.

you just can't make up this level of stupid.

A federal study found signs that surveillance devices for intercepting cellphone calls and texts were operating near the White House and other sensitive locations in the Washington area last year.

A Department of Homeland Security program discovered evidence of the surveillance devices, called IMSI catchers, as part of federal testing last year, according to a letter from DHS to Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) on May 22. The letter didn't specify what entity operated the devices and left open the possibility that there could be alternative explanations for the suspicious cellular signals collected by the federal testing program last year.

The discovery bolsters years of independent research suggesting that foreign intelligence agencies use sophisticated interception technology to spy on officials working within the hub of federal power in the nation’s capital. Experts in surveillance technology say that IMSI catchers — sometimes known by one popular brand name, StingRay — are a standard part of the tool kit for many foreign intelligence services, including for such geopolitical rivals as Russia and China.

It would go very well for the indifferent independent voters who are educated enough to understand the issues, but are perhaps tired of the reality show circus news cycles

JFC, what the fuck is this xenophobic bullshit? IMSI catchers are used all over the world and there are tons of them used by police forces in the US.

Be careful, if you do not tow the line and recognize the true evils in this world (Russia & China) and turn a blind eye to US law enforcement they will call you a Russian troll. Somebody should invent a "godwin's law" for forums wherein as a conversation becomes longer the probability of somebody calling you a Russian troll approaches 1.

Edit: LOL

He’s a Russian Troll, he wants to President to keep using an insecure device.

FIVR's law:

As a conversation on ATPN grows longer, the probability of somebody calling somebody else a Russian troll approaches 1.

The correct phrase is "toe the line".

I really don't have a problem with Trump using an unsecured device for twittering if that's all he does with it. It's all public anyway.

Given that everybody & their dog uses stingrays for a variety of purposes he should use a secured device for all other purposes

Sound theory, I hope you're right and we get some balance
