Good thing that Obama changed Bush's practice

... of giving positions to big-money donors. It's a shame he changed it for the worse.

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/report-obama-administration-rewards-big-donors-jobs/story?id=13849435

Fred Schulte, one of the authors of the report, said that there is a difference between the Bush administration and the Obama administration.

"We did look at the administration of George Bush, which was widely criticized for appointing donors to these kinds of posts, and they had about the same number in four years that the Obama administration has had in two years," Schulte said.

Meet the new boss - worse than the old boss. What was it he said? Oh, yeah:

"The cynics, the lobbyists, the special interests who've turned our government into a game, only they can afford to play," said then-Sen. Obama in his February 2007 announcement speech. "They get the access while you get to write a letter. ... The time for that kind of politics is over."

Don't worry about it, the 'culture of corruption' campaign restarts next time Dems go up against a Rep.

No he isn't. That's what slick talking is. Don't turn this into R vs D. That shit carries no weight except to morons who need others to tell them how to thinking.

I think it's funny that there's a consumer advocasy group lobbying the FCC chairmen to not take jobs at AT&T after they voted to allow the acquisition of T-Mobile by AT&T.

Maybe citizens are finally getting pissed off about revolving door politics. I know I certainly am. Fuck that shit. It's no different than a bribe...it's just paid tomorrow instead of today. Fuckers should all be in prison.

He's certainly a politician.

Rudder can correct me if I'm wrong, but you might be misunderstanding the gist of his post. Sounds like he's saying Obama is WORSE because he campaigned on it and then still did it anyway.

No they should be dead, but our justice system isn't even good enough to even get them into prison. Oh well
He's certainly a politician.

He brought up previous administrations like none haven't campaigned one thing and done another. That's what politicians do and that's what I meant by slick talking. The only reason to bring up other administrations is to try and make someone look better and another look worse. Duck that Boise they are all the same. Fucking snakes.

I found this paragraph to particularly interesting:

"According to the American Foreign Service Association, President Obama has nominated more "political" appointees for ambassadorships versus foreign service candidates than any president in at least the past 20 years. A full 36.2 percent of Obama's ambassadors are political, while just more than 30 percent of Bush's were political. Under former President Clinton, 27.82 percent of such appointments were political, while under President George H.W. Bush, 30.3 percent were political."

Mr Obama should be called on this as much as possible.

A Black Dude getting elected is bound to owe more political favors than some White Guy. Not saying it's right, it's just reality.

Why? Other than the straight party voters, looked like he was elected by whites who were eager to pat themselves on the back for electing a black man while boasting how post racial they were.

I don't fundamentally disagree, but really, how irate should one get for 36% rather than 30%? Considering that Obama is a creation of the Chicago machine, I'm surprised he's been as clean as he has been. Hypocrisy and corruption are the nature of the political beast, which frankly says as much about us as about the politicians.

That sure didn't hurt but my liberal friends acted like I said. Guess we'll see in the next cycle if the hope and change still has it.

Back to the question....

That he was black did not factor into my decisions. If he were green with antennae, that would not be a problem - unless I was concerned that he was prepping us for an alien invasion.

Same but I'd have to see what the aliens had to offer.

He's getting ready to copy/paste a reply from another thread about how Obama put the brakes on some of Bush's worst policies and practices.
