techno sucks, trance is where it's at.

Dude... just so you know trance is techno.

😛

I don't consider them the same. I would go into detail but I don't really want to type it out.

BTW regarding the original post, anything by Paul Oakenfold.

Paul Oakenfold transport

basically anything by him

DJ Tiesto
Dj Judge Jules
Tall Paul
paul van ***

Check out some Scooter, Dj. Mistik, Dj. Tiesto, and of course, the obligatory Oakenfold

Can't go wrong with Scooter - The Logical Song

I went to see oakenfold spin at Blue Moon last year and his set wasn't that great, but he has decent stuff.. when you look up songs by paul van dyk make sure you spell it that way..

Recommendations:
Paul Van Dyk- Heaven (and many of his other songs)
Lost Tribe- Gamemaster (Lost Witness Remix)
Binary Finary 2000
Mars- Pachelbel 8000
(Following are by Mars and Mystre)
The Whistle Song
That Ocean Song
Keep on Path
Theme from FuBots
Save the Rave
Mars and Dyloot- Be At One
Chemistry- We Are One
Tall Paul- Wizards of the Sonic
Gouryella- Gouryella
Gouryella- Tenshi
Gouryella- Ligaya

..there was a big thread earlier about good trance.. I'm not sure if it's still up

Don't forget The Crystal Method and The Chemical Brothers. My two favorites.

Setting Sun by The Chemical Brothers = teh good

<- not a fan of trance. too spacey for me. Drum and bass/jungle is great stuff, especially if you got the system to listen to it on

Another vote for Scooter and Oakenfold. Try to grab the Scooter cd "24 Carat Gold" from amazon - it has all of their best stuff except for "weekend", their new single.

and they don't really make techno...

but back to the posters question, if you're looking for stuff like the matrix soundtrack, you probably want to look more into break beats, big beat, or maybe even a little jungle/drum and bass.

yes

dylan - go(the return) is an effing awesome dnb track

I bought "Rave 'til Dawn" (pink album cover) about jeeze.... 12 years ago now. I think that the stuff on there is considered techno - at least an early generation of techno. Loved most of the stuff on there. Which was odd because I've never heard anything like it prior to that. I loved "Stylophonia" (sp?) by Two Little Boys. I'm going to have to dig out that cd again...

dude...just so you know, trance is not techno.

Trance is trance
techno is progressive house.

Both are electronica.

Velvet Acid Christ - Fun With Knives (the sound at the beginning is the sound of a throat being cut)

Funker Voght - Shaven

Velvet Acid Christ - Cyber Communists plotting... (the actual title is longer but I don't remember it all)

aphex twin's remix of o fortuna is a good one.

and brainbug - nightmare.

i remember when they were struggling to find a name for the genre which everybody's quibbling about the names and contituents thereof.
