Good tablet for playing some games

My son is turning seven soon and wants a tablet. My budget is about $200, but I'd like to stay closer to $150 if it can be done. I haven't kept very up to date on the latest mobile CPU's and GPU's so I don't know what I would 'need' to play games. He plays a lot of games without any problems on my old-ish Droid Bionic, so I doubt I need a ton of horsepower. The display size isn't super important, I figure something in the 8-10" range would work best.

Hard to beat the Nook HD+ at the larger size, when you can find it on sale for $100-150.
