Good tablet computer

My girlfriend is looking for a tablet computer, neither of us has ever used one before, so I was curious if anyone had some suggestions for a first tablet computer.

She uses the laptop now for light gaming, surfing the internet, email, and drawing in Photoshop.

From what we saw with tablet computers at the stores, it seems like it would be really cool for her drawing and photoshop editing using a tablet computer so we're looking into it now.

Any help would be awesome. Thanks

Toshiba has some really cool models. I'm not sure that you'll get much gaming power out of them unless you spend $2500+ but if I were going to buy one it would be a Toshiba.

Wait two months for the IBM X61 tablet to be released. It will have integrated graphics though, so depending on what kind of gaming your girlfriend is doing, it may not be up to the task.

If that's the case, you really don't want a tablet because almost all of them have integrated graphics. The Tecra M4 from toshiba does have a 6200 go turbocache, but it doesn't have the new core duo processors, only the old pentium ms.

The M4 used to have a 6600, but they discontinued it for some reason.

If you don't mind buying used, you can find a toshiba m200 for under $1000 on ebay. It's light, small (12.1 inch screen), 1440x1050 resolution (great for photoshop work), has a geforce 5200 i believe (ok for occaisonal gaming...nothing recent though).

The m400 has the core duo processor, but unfortunately integrated graphics. Hopefully, Toshiba will make a dedicated graphics model, but I wouldn't count on it. Also, I'd look for a model with a screen resolution of 1440x1050. You'll probably spend most of your time in portrait mode, and especially in photoshop, the extra ~300 pixels will help out a lot, trust me.
