Okay, I found out yesterday, that my house was trying to be broken into a couple days ago. I'm thinking about asking a neighbor if I can mount a camera across the street that focuses on the front of my house. A wired camera will not work I do not think because someone will cut the wire for sure. I don't even know if this is legal, but does anyone know of a camera that is strong enough to send a signal about 50-70 feet away?

It's perfectly legal to put up surveilance equipment to monitor your property. Panasonic makes some INCREDIBLE Ethernet cameras that could easily be connected via any 802.11* network. They ain't cheap though. Newegg happens to sell the outdoor model.

Link.

In addition to that, you'd have to run some ethernet cable [Home Depot sells the indoor/outdoor style for a few cents/foot) from the camera into the house, and connect it to a wireless access point that you can connect to from your house.
