Good sub $100 PS3 headset?

I'm looking for a sub $100 headset for my ps3. Sound quality is the most important followed by comfort. Wired/wireless doesn't matter and neither does the mic quality since I rarely play online. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I just bought the Gold Wireless Headset and they are right at your budget of $100. Sound isn't going to blow you away but none will at your price range. It does sound pretty good for the price, has a built in hidden mic which pics up well, bass is decent, it's light enough to be worn for extended periods of time, is compatible with PS3 and PS4 just in case you ever upgrade, battery life is pretty good too. I'd recommend them.

I ordered the Gold Wireless Headset last week based on recommendations in the PS4 thread. They will be delivered sometime this week since I hate paying for shipping.

Thanks for the recommendation; I ended up ordering them. From what I've read most sub $100 headsets are a crap shoot regarding sound quality and durability and I didn't want to spend $200+ for the great ones. I like the gold since it's pretty much plug and play rather than having to connect wires both to my PS3 and TV. I'm not sure why they used USB instead of Bluetooth but it doesn't matter much to me since I don't need the extra ports. The PS4 compatibility is nice since I do plan on picking up one down the line (probably whenever the first slim is released). Hopefully they'll last that long.

I'm using the Turtle Beach P11 that IIRC are sold around $60, maybe less.
Not the more comfortable headset but sound and mic works well.

The official gold one for $99 seems like the most obvious answer. Or you could use any 3.5mm headset plugged into the controller. I have the original wireless ones that now work and some $3 Samsung OEM ones that work great.

I was looking for a headset for the PS3 so that wasn't going to work. I know you can get the PS4 controller to work somewhat on the PS3 but I doubt the headphones plugged into the controller would work.

I got the gold wireless headset yesterday and tried it out for a half hour or so on infamous and the Iron Man Blu-ray. I doubt infamous is the best game to try it on but I just got a PS3 earlier this month and am going through their best exclusives so that's what I'm currently playing. From what I've listened to the only negative is lack of bass. The headset is comfortable, the sound is crisp and clear and the VSS sounds good (although not close to true 7.1). It's just that even when I turned up the bass all the way with the companion app it was still somewhat lackluster. Still, for $99 and what I wanted them for they're still a good deal. They certainly sound better than my TV's speakers and I can play at night without bothering anyone.

Dafuq is the reason for paying so much money something like this, let alone for so little you say you'll use it.
