Anybody have suggestions for good computer component stores in the GTA? I am looking to by my brother a gaming machine that will be able to handle new games for the next two or three years. I am willing to look at building my own or buying a system.

Cash limit is $1300 Canadian before taxes (not including monitor, speakers, mouse, keyboard)

Hoping to get something in the following range:

Intel P4 1.2 - 1.6 GHz
Geforce 4 Ti4200
512MB of Memory
40GB hard drive
Creative Labs SB Live!

Any suggestions where to go for good deals?

ICCT.ca is good. For some reason the prices they quote you over the phone are often cheaper than what's advertised on their webpage.

Intel P4-1.9G $609
ECS P4IBMS MainBoard
128M SDRAM
32M AGP Video Card
30G 7200R Hard Drive
1.44 FDD
ATX CASE
52X CD-ROM
56K V90 MODEM
Sound Card on board
180W Speaker
PS/2 Keyboard
PS/2 Scroll Mouse

upgrade

to 512 = $100
to 40gb = $30
to MSI Geforce4 MX420 64M TV = $90
buy sblive 5.1 from anystore for another $50

total would be: 100+30+90+50+609 = 880 CDN + tax , seem like good price to me :)
