I'm looking for software that can do streaming media. This is usually from website that have embeded mov or wmv or whatever it is that they use. I use the default gxine in my Slackware install. The major problem is that it is not very good at buffering and doesn't seem to have an option to increase the buffer so I can watch short clips without it buffering every 10 seconds or so..

You can try VLC or Mplayer. VLC is usually what I recomend, it's fairly easy to use and supports more codecs then anything else.

mplayer has a mozilla plugin, works so-so.
