Good, small computer speakers?

My gf has a tiny dorm and can't fit her massive logitech 560s in it... In fact, she tried and the sub is so boomy that people complained even when it was turned all the way down.. She mostly listens to music on her 'puter and I was wondering if there's any small yet good sounding 2.0 or 2.1 system out there... She has a pretty small budget ... She would prefer a 2.0 system but I always thought that they sound too tinny - any suggestions?

Yeah - I have some $100 dollar altec lansing 2.1s that are quite nice and are made for music. I'm not using them now since I have some Klipsch 5.1s =) but they are in my living room. I forget the name but I'll edit my reply with em.

EDIT:

Altec Lansing ATP 3 (2.1)

I think you can get them close to $70 bucks now.

Creative Labs has some small 2.1 speakers freedomsbeat212 🙂

Out of curiosity, w/ doesn't your girlfriend just turn down the bass level on the 560's? 😕

I have the Boston Acoustics BA735. It requires a digital connection but the satellites are very small, and it actually sounds pretty good. I got it used on eBay for under $20

She does turn it down but it still rocks the room.. The sub is also way too big - she doesn't have any leg room left under her desk
