good skin cleaner?

I've been breaking out and I need a good cleaner. Any suggestions as to what works for you guys?

I need something that isn't harsh because I have really sensitive skin and I can't use something that overdries because my skin gets even more oily afterwards. My skin also tends to get oily so nothing oil based please. Thanks

St. Ives Apricot scrub.

i swear by the stuff.

there are three kinds. the sensitive skin, the regular, and the acne medicated.

sensitive skin... use Aquanil.. it's not soap based and will not dry your skin because water is not necessary to rinse it. Apply without water and just wipe off with tissue afterward. Breakouts aren't caused by dirty skin directly, so don't wash as often either. Just have to manage the oil output.

Best thing for oily skin is any product with 2% salacylic acid, as it's main "active" ingredient.

There used to be a product called "SalAc," but difficult to find of late. "Clean & Clear" has a product that has the same basic ingredient.

I second that.

Do you see the irony here? You're asking folks how to get rid of pimples. The dolts who are replying have acne. How the hell can someone with acne be a valid source of information? You need to ask someone with clear and smooth skin. When someone replies, "How the hell would I know what to use? I don't have any stinkin' pimples!", that's the person you want to talk with.

Someone who has never had acne and doesn't have sensitive skin would probably give you the worst advice ever and cause you to break out 10x worse.

I use Dove soap...it is by far the best thing on the market! I saw a TV show once on Discovery about all those skin cleansers and in the end, Dove was the most recommended due to pH balancing and all that! 😀

Have acne or USED TO have acne ? It's only natural... what's the big deal ? Just passing along info that worked for us...

i used to have acne. not anymore though, i take vitamin b5 now. cruise the acne.org forums, they have great info and user-level feedback.

I use clinique face soap and a face brush. Go to any beauty supply store and ask for one. It's a really soft brush that exfoliates and cleans out your pores. I can feel pimples starting, but they just go away before they surface.

You really want to take care of the problem, go talk to a dermatologist, he/she will probably put you on an antibiotic and give you a face wash of with benzoyl peroxide in it, what I have is 9% and it has worked great, just use it once daily and rub it into you face really well.
At first it may dry your skin, and cause more oils to form, aleast that is what it started out doing, but just use a damp rag to wipe your face off before you go to bed, and use the cleanser in the morning. Your skin will adjust to it in no time, and will stop producing so much oil. Atleast that is the experience I have had with it.
My face is completely clear as of right now, but I am still working on my back/shoulders, which are already much better then they were.
