Good sites like Amazon for Buying CDs

I have a CD I would like to purchase called "Drink The Sea" by The Glitch Mob. It seems ridiculously overpriced on Amazon. I don't know if the album is out of print or what... :( I would like to know where you guys buy your CDs outside of Amazon. Keep in mind I would like to see an actual storefront selling these, not an individual out in Delaware. I don't need the CD to be on the site for sale, but just an alternative site to compare prices and possibly buy musics that's trustworthy. Thank you all!

None of those links off google shopping worked. Re-searched them and everything. Also, that didn't really answer my question, otherwise I wouldn't have posted in the first place (I use google a lot, thanks). I want to know what a good storefront site that carries it's own stock is. I am especially interested in CDs.

Anyone can have a place in google shopping. It's no more reliable than ebay, or buy, or craigslist, which don't have my trust. Thank you.

Google is your friend... you should learn to use it

EDIT: Here's another thing. Before you are rude to someone you should do your research (Just as important, if not MORE important, than knowing how to google IMO...). If you noticed my 2,058 posts, and actually went through some of them you would see I probably know how to google a good bit, and you would make yourself look like an ass.

Your brain is your friend... "you should learn how to use it"

I found the band's website that sells the album by the way. I would still like you guys' opinions on alternatives to Amazon.

Well son, I don't give a shit how many posts you have, so why would I bother to read any of your past posts? Either way, I was not intending to sound like an ass. Now back to topic...

If I read your post correctly you are trying to purchase a copy of The Glitch Mob's 'Drink the Sea' album. I see the album on their website is typically $17.99

http://www.theglitchmob.com/store

I also see that Amazon has the downloadable album here for $7.99 for the full album.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...pf_rd_i=507846

I do see what you mean by over priced since the 'new' version of this album is $30.00
http://www.amazon.com/Drink-Sea-Glit...651790&sr=8-11

I guess the question remains what are you willing to pay for it?

I'd check places like Hastings.com; Barnes&Noble.com; etc.

Locally we have a really cool place called the Record Exchange who can procure specialty items. Lucky for you it looks like they have it for like $11.98

You can do what you want, but personally I'd call The Record Exchange and see if they truly have it and have it shipped to you.

Try Deep Discount.

That looks awesome. It says free shipping. How long does it normally take to ship?

This is where I will probably be buying it from.

This may make me sound like a tool (apologies), but I am sort of becoming an audiophile, so I like to import off a physical disk in lossless. So I suppose it's either deep discount or the band's site for me unless anyone else has another site to consider.

Deep Discount ships anything they have in stock within 48 hours. If you add the CD to your cart, however, you will find it is currently out of stock.

Right, but I was just wondering about shipping in general. Thanks.

F.Y.E. (For Your Entertainment) has storefronts and a fairly good selection. FYE.com online.

I've used CDUniverse.com a couple times and have been happy with them. They don't have a storefront though AFAIK.

I've also used J&R in New York, and they do have a storefront IIRC (obviously only of use if you live near NYC). J&R is a huge outfit selling all kinds of electronics, movies, music, etc. Very reputable AFAIK. JR.com is their Website, cleverly enough.

Tower.com is Tower Records' Website. Haven't used it yet, but it's there. Of course, their storefronts closed years ago.

Some other brick & mortar options would be Target, Wal-Mart or Best Buy. Of course, they typically only carry the big-selling mainstream stuff.

Used CD stores can be great for finding older/obscure stuff. If you're a quality geek like me & demand to source your music from physical disk they can be both good quality AND cheap.

A chain of stores local to me has bargain bins of $4 per CD with buy 5 get a 6th free. $3.33 a disc makes it tough to resist filling out a collection.

Yes they're used but with AccurateRip who cares? You're going to rip them once and then never touch them again.

I actually decided to go to Amoeba.com, which is a record store localized in California. A few weeks ago I had gone there for spring break to attend GDC, and they had an outrageous selection of cheap CDs. They actually have an order input system for anything you might want that isn't displayed on their site. They follow up with an email informing you if they have it in stock or not, how much it costs, and how much shipping will be. A few days after I posted this, I had ordered a ton from their used clearance selection, and it came here promptly. All the discs seemed to have replaced casing and were sent through a disc cleaner, because I've never seen used discs like this. Even my own are more beat up some times.

Unfortunately there aren't ANY good music stores in Grand Rapids. I pretty much have the choice of Target, Best Buy, or Book stores like Borders. All of which charge above retail price on a regular basis, and when they do have clearance it's like "Genesis: The Best Of" or "Molly and Harriet: The best unheard of country duo of the 50's".

I've not thought of F.Y.E.. Our's closed down a few years back and I haven't really had them pop into my head since.
