Not sure, but you could always call or email Mossberg and ask for a list of dealers in your area to call directly?

Some models do.

Mine is the Mossberg 500 Persuader.

But other models like the Mariner do come with the grip in the box.

That's odd, my Persuader came with the pistol grip attached and the shoulder stock in the box with it. I got mine years ago though, so they may have changed the standard kit. If I had seen this thread earlier, I might have been able to get one for you relatively cheap at the gun show. There will be another show or two coming up during the next thirty days, if you haven't procured one by then I can keep an eye out for you.

I bought mine around 4 months ago, and it came with the pistol grip and mounting hardware in the box. Maybe it is per state or something?

Mine was brand new in the box from Dick's. I'm in GA FWIW.
 
I'm also in Georgia, but got mine in Forsyth county and it's a Persuader also. Came with the grip and hardware in the box. BTW, I like the stock better, so maybe we can arrange something. Send me a message if you are interested.

Which store did you get it from?

I got mine from the Dick's at the Mall of GA but had originally looked at the one that was at the Dicks over in Cumming.

Maybe I got screwed.

I even specifically asked the girl at Dicks that did the transaction if it came with the piston grip and she said no and said it was brand new in the box even though the box was opened when she brought it out, which I assumed was to verify serial numbers.

I actually went to Forsyth Gun and Pawn which is in Cumming. It's a pretty decent store for purchasing new guns and they know the items pretty well. I would also recommend Adventure Outdoors in Smyrna in the future. I try to avoid chains like Dicks' since you really never know if the salesperson is experienced.
