Good site for...socializing?

I was just wondering what a good site for socializing is. It's so easy to hate Myspace, but a crapload of people use it. Should I try it or stay away from it and try something else? I just want to meet new people...and girls, of course 🙂 - Would rather not use Myspace, but it is by far the most popular of those kinds of sites.

Myspace sucks, but its sheer volume gives it worth as far as socializing goes, no matter how much one may not wish to admit it. I use it, simply because so many people I know are on it and it just makes it easy to stay in touch. But my favorite site is Facebook. It's so much cleaner and legit than myspace, and has great networking capability. In fact, Facebook is all about networks. And unlimited photo hosting 😀

The bottom dropped out of that when people decided they didnt want to hang out with pedophiles anymore.

(Or cops pretending to be pedos.)

EDIT: Which is almost a little ironic, when you consider all the kids who were showing off their bodies for a while on MySpace.

You may want to try, getting involved in some organized sports, or going to college, or going to church, or volunteering, or renewing old friendships. Or going to a bar and drinking some liquid courage.

I've been on both these sites for a while, and nothing is going on at either of them. Nadda. I wasn't expecting to make a bunch of friends or anything, but I expected to at least talk to some other people. No one messages or requests to add me or looks at me or anything. Poor little ole' me 😛

I haven't dealt with facebook much, i'm probably doing something wrong there, I don't think anyone has looked at my facebook page, like no one can see it. I'm getting like 1 page view a week on myspace, and my page is fvcking hip. Maybe I need to make the background yellow, make the font pink, and play some horrible music on repeat, I bet more people would contact me then =/ - I'm thinking about axing both pages, but I feel like I should give them a fair chance first.

I've met girls through Google's Orkut. But I believe it isn't popular in the US of A. The good things about Orkut is:

1) Users can't customize their pages with obnoxious HTML code/garish templates/20 Youtube videos in their favorite music column
2) I can find pretty much any guy/girl I can think of in it (great for online stalking)
3) The scrapbook system is good for keeping in touch with acquaintances you really don't feel like calling/messaging/chatting/e-mailing with

Agreed, the real world is a much better option.
