I'm a Java newbie, trying to work through tutorials to get started in Java. It doesn't seem that bad except for knowing which packages to work with out of the billions that seem to be available, and getting everything initialized properly...

Anybody know any good websites to help this noob over the learning curve?

TIA!

New to Java, not programming. I understand the ideas of object oriented programming, just need to learn more about Java programming.

Thanks for the Info,

If you're not new to programming, not sure why you need a bottom up tutorial. If you have a specific task to complete, then that'd be different, but as long as you're familiar with the object-oriented paradigm no need to start from square 1.

What are you trying to do with the language?

Right now i'm just trying to get used to working in java, i'm not trying to do anything specific. My company is going to be switching to a new ERP+CRM solution soon though that will require knowledge of java for doing customizations, etc, and I have never worked with Java before. I've always wanted to learn it anyways and just havent' taken the time up until now.
