What site do you guys recommend people go to for ink cartridges? I've used monsterinkjets.com before, it was years ago though, and their ratings aren't that great.

Any recommendations on which company to go with? I need to find a good site for someone that has a Canon printer, don't remember the model though.

Goal was to find a place cheaper than those... these guys were telling me that they pay $60 for a color cartridge at some local place like those.

I've only tried aftermarket ink one time...and it leaked and ruined the printer. Now, I pay the horrible price for factory carts.

There are supposed to be some very decent aftermarket places, but my Canon has chipped cartridges, and that brings its own set of issues with non-factory replacements.

^ well, at least with Canons, you can buy a cheap print-head replacement. problem with Epson is they cont' be replaced without a factory service. sucks, b/c they are the best quality :(

OP, I havne't had any good experience with aftermarket ink cartridges. one set clogged up a printer, the other had a dried-out cartridge (different brands)

I would second that. I've had very good luck with them on my Canon AIO. Sometimes you can even find 30%+ off coupons in the HD section too!

ah man... do not get me started. I stopped using my canon because of that. The chip on those is a huge PITA.....It sucks when the chip also "burns out" and you have to go out and buy another cartirdge anyways.

The whole logic behind remanufactured or refilled ink cartridges is to screw everyone just once. Everyone has already figured out that the cheaper cost of these ink jets causes messes, causes ink smears, causes higher drying time, causes poor photograph colors, and many other problems. In the long run, its not worth it. I've tried to save a buck or two and it has cost me more in the long run. I now purchase only factory ink jets at Sams or Costco and turn my old ink jets into cash as Office Max or similar store.

Try this instead. I bought it at work and am quite happy with the results. At the cost of a few factory ink refills, this will print for years at typical printing quantitites without a refill. Ok, the photos are a bit grainy, but unless you have good eyesight, you can't tell. And you shouldn't be printing photos anyways when you can get them done at a store for a few pennies each with far better quality than ink jets will give you.
