Good simple HSPA phone

My primary phone is a Blackberry 9700 on Telus. I have a secondary prepaid running on an old CDMA phone but now that Telus supports 3.5G I was going to get a sim card for my prepaid account. Only issue is that it doesn't support all GSM phones...only newer ones. Could anybody offer suggestions that charge with USB, has decent battery life, is compact, and under $50 (maybe $75)?
