Hey guys going to build a new pc to upgrade and will use
ASUS AMD S939 nVidia nForce4 SLI A8N-SLI Deluxe

I have no clue about cases I usually just went for whatever my local store had to offer but now I want something thats quiet damn it. I probably just need mid-tower size. Going to have about 4 drives in total in there. Basicly a gaming rig which I dont think I am going to overclock. So any sugestions apreciated.

BTW. As far as I understand most of the noise comes from external case fans. Do cases that bought online usually have "silent" fans mounted on them or is that extra?

how much you wanna spend?

the dual video cards are gonna be loud, as well as the heat sink fan unless you run a 120mm fan at low RPM,

if you jsut want a quality built mid-tower case that is rather quiet (stock components like psu and stock fans) then go w/ Antec Sonata *rated one of the quietest cases*. This case usually comes w/ a antec truepower 380watt power supply and is straight black (piano black for techincal terms) in color. At newegg its listed for about $100 http://www.newegg.com/app/View...=11-129-127&depa=1 w/ free shipping!

cool thanks for help!

I think Antec Sonata sounds like what I want. I dont want to spend more then 200 for case/ps. BTW I am not planing to get 2nd GPU till my system wont be able to handle next gen games well enough or when 6600GT are going to become dirt cheap :)

Antec Sonata - GREAT case. I built a box around one this summer. rubber feet. rubber grommets for the HDD. good thought into the case. Just be careful with the fron bezel. I broke part of the bezel getting it off. That is the only downfall.

Antec has a few different "quiet" models. Sonata, P160, Super LANBoy and the whole "SLK" series. The aluminum ones will/can have side windows and don't come with power supplies. The steel ones (which may be quieter) will have power supplies and no side window option.

I love my Antec Super-lanboy. Pretty quiet and actually has nice front air flow (large grill that allows good flow into the case unlike the Sonata). It is all silver alluminum and smaller than some cases (so if you have an unusual mobo or something you may have problems).

Think a Sonata has enough airflow to cool a system with a BFG 6800GT OC graphics card? CPU is mobile barton 2500@3200, heatsink is the Thermalright SP-97 (biotch to install, but boy is it quiet and powerful).

Would I need a second fan somewhere, like another 120mm in the front?

I would go for a cooler case than the Sonata....it runs hot, with all that heat, you are going to be looking at so much cooling, that the quiet case portion will kill it. Get something a little larger....the SLK series is great (I have one), and the new P180 that should be coming out soon looks wonderful as well.

I somewhat disagree. I have 2 Panaflo 120mm's in mine and it runs pretty cool actually. With proper fans, and cableing it should be fine.

Actually I'll wait for the Sonata II or the P180. Glad I didn't click the purchase button yet :) At the least the Sonata's price should fall a bit.

A great place to gather case information is SilentPCreview.com

The general conscience there is that the SLK3700 or 3000 have more potential than the Sonata due to the orientation of the drives and the open bezel. The 3700 is a larger case also which provides a little installation room that the Sonata lacks.
